Senior Accountant

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional qualification CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent.7 years of experience in an Accounting function including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and related international accounting standards.

Preferred qualifications

• MBA or MSA.Experience managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation.
• Ability to propose next steps and roadblock solutions and anticipate questions and challenges early, manage time, and follow work plans.
• Ability to have strong attention to detail, organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.
• Excellent investigative skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive management.

Responsibilities

• Learn more about benefits at Google .Manage the delivery of controllership milestones for new first-of-a-kind (FOAK) entity launch.
• Design and manage the delivery of accounting processes in your portfolio, ensuring that the internal control environment is robust and quality is maintained.
• Identify and manage process improvement opportunities by leveraging AI, scripts, and automation tools to streamline financial reporting workflows.
• Oversee the annual statutory financial statements and tax compliance process, including management of the external audit and tax filings for a portfolio of Alphabet's companies in the Africa sub-region.
• Perform regular in-depth analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books and records, while preparing, analysing and posting journals.
• Balance sheet management, review reconciliations of key balance sheet account balances including relevant reporting for the same.
