Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service while managing kitchen staff, controlling inventory, and ensuring smooth shift management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment
• Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control to ensure consistency with established standards
• Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs
• Implement and uphold food safety sanitizing procedures in accordance with health regulations
• Plan menus in collaboration with Chef Owner
• Coordinate shift schedules, delegate tasks efficiently, and monitor kitchen operations for maximum productivity
• Ensure compliance with all food handling regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace suitable for fine dining standards
• Work closely with Front of House and Back of House managers to ensure smooth service.

Skills

• Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining environments
• Proven supervising experience managing kitchen teams effectively
• Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in professional kitchens
• Strong skills in inventory management, cost control, and food industry best practices
• Ability to plan menus thoughtfully
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with excellent team management skills
• Proficiency in food service management, shift management, and restaurant operations
• Skilled in food handling, cooking techniques, and food preparation processes
• Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving within fast-paced environments

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
