Part-Time Hybrid Bookkeeper + Financial Operations Support

Flora Clay, a growing orchid and plant wholesale/retail company, is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper with strong budgeting, financial analysis, and administrative support skills. This is a hybrid part-time role, working 2–3 days per week in our Downtown LA office.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting

• Manage daily transactions, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Process payroll and maintain compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close
• Prepare monthly sales tax report
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
• Assist with tax preparation coordination

Budgeting & Financial Reporting

• Track budgets and spending against goals
• Provide financial insights and cost-saving recommendations
• Support forecasting and financial planning

Administrative & Operational Support

• Maintain organized digital financial records
• Communicate with vendors, resolve invoice issues
• Assist with inventory tracking and cost controls
• Improve financial workflows and documentation

Technology & Systems

• Proficient in QuickBooks Online
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets reporting experience
• Support implementation of improved accounting systems

Qualifications

• Solid bookkeeping experience, ideally in retail or wholesale
• Familiar with payroll, compliance, and basic tax concepts
• High accuracy, strong organization, and confidentiality
• Ability to explain financial data to non-finance team members
• Analytical mindset and proactive problem-solver
