Bookkeeper-Public Accounting

Job Overview

Bassett & Associates, P.A., a growing CPA firm, is actively searching for a Bookkeeper in Raleigh, NC. Experience working for a CPA firm or a public bookkeeping company is a must. This role will help our clients maintain financial records, including daily transactions, bank reconciliations, balance sheet tie-down, and month-end close.

The perfect candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in handling all day-to-day accounting functions and preparation of financial statements. Minimum of a 2-year degree in Accounting is required for candidates to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Monthly bookkeeping for several clients
• Reconciling bank, loans, and credit card accounts
• Assessing reasonableness of accounting data
• Month-end balance sheet tie-down
• Monthly and year-end adjusting journal entries
• Preparing financial statements
• Assisting with tax payments and returns
• Working with tax team as needed

Requirements

• Proven bookkeeping experience
• Solid understanding of balance sheets (not just the P&L)
• Data entry skills
• Problem solving skills
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Proficiency in English
• QuickBooks products
• Microsoft Word and Excel
• Client service skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
