Call Center Collections Specialist – Phoenix, Arizona

Waddell Serafino Geary Rechner Jenevein, P.C. is seeking motivated Collection Specialists to join our Phoenix, Arizona office. While a legal background is preferred, it is not required for this role.

This position focuses on managing a high volume of inbound calls from consumers seeking to discuss account details, resolve balances, or establish payment arrangements. No cold calling is involved.

The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, provide exceptional customer service, maintain accurate account documentation, and consistently achieve performance goals and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of inbound calls
• Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements while strictly complying with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act (FDCPA) and Arizona consumer protection laws
• Communicate with consumers to discuss delinquent accounts, evaluate payment capabilities, and identify suitable resolution options.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records, update account statuses, and document cardholder information within legal systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Debt collectors must have strong negotiation skills
• Strong listening, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Be able to operate a computer, phone or equivalent device
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand and process position-related written materials and communications.
• Prior experience in legal is preferred
