Junior Purchaser

Trueman Distribution Ltd., is a leading distributor of wholesale pet products in Western Canada. Family owned and operated since 1995.

Trueman Distribution is seeking a Junior Purchaser to support the company's continued growth.

Main Responsibilities

Prepare and issue purchase orders and review paperwork for accuracy.

Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of products.

Inventory control. Monitor and maintain stock levels to achieve company goals.

Assortment Planning. Facilitate the identification of potential vendors.

Collaborate and communicate with other departments.

Assist with other duties as assigned.

Maintain confidentiality with company and customer information.

Report to Purchasing Manager, VP of Sales, Procurement & Marketing and President.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.

Minimum 2 years Buying or Category Management experience.

Post-secondary education such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management.

Experience in pet food industry or semi-perishable product industry an asset.

Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

Advance proficiency with MS Office 365.

Working knowledge of Sage 300 or other similar ERP is an asset.
