Role Description The Content Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON, responsible for leading the overall content strategy and execution across multiple channels. Day-to-day, this role directs the content team, sets editorial standards, and oversees planning and production of articles, video scripts, social media content, and long-form assets.

The Content Director collaborates with marketing, product, and design teams to align content with brand positioning and business objectives, while ensuring a consistent voice and high quality. This role analyzes performance data, refines content roadmaps, manages external vendors or freelancers as needed, and maintains content calendars and workflows.

The Content Director also mentors team members, supports professional development, and contributes to process improvements that enhance efficiency and creativity.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in leading content strategy, editorial planning, and multi-channel content production for brand or agency environments.
• Strong skills in writing, editing, and storytelling, with the ability to adapt tone and format for different audiences and platforms.
• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), project management tools, and collaboration platforms used in modern content operations.
• Ability to interpret analytics and performance metrics, using data to refine content initiatives and measure impact.
• Experience managing and mentoring content teams, including hiring, performance feedback, and professional development.
• Comfort working closely with marketing, design, product, and leadership stakeholders to align content with strategic business goals.
• Knowledge of SEO principles, content governance, and brand guidelines, with attention to accuracy and consistency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
