Marketing & Communication Director (Victoria, BC)

We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Director to join our team on Victoria, BC, Canada, and to manage our online and offline communication to increase brand awareness.

Responsibilities include distributing promotional material, responding to customers’ queries and comments on social media and networking during marketing events. This will involve considerable involvement both within the Bitcoin community, and communicating value of our products to partners outside the cryptocurrency space.

Responsibilities

• Advertise our company and products/services on various media
• Coordinate the design of promotional material and distribute in online and offline channels
• Develop brand guidelines and educate Blockstream employees
• Set marketing strategy goals and OKRs, and track quantitative progress
• Arrange for interviews and media coverage
• Conference planning and organization
• Produce content for website and sales materials
• Craft and send regular newsletters with company updates
• Track ROI for marketing campaigns
• Join social media groups and professional platforms to discuss industry-related topics
• Monitor corporate website and social media pages and address clients’ queries
• Network with industry experts and potential clients to drive brand awareness
• Gather customer feedback to inform sales and product teams

Requirements

• Cryptocurrency industry knowledge and experience; at the very minimum, we expect you to participate in the crypto events, meetups and closely follow the news.
• 5+ years of marketing / communication experience from a high-tech, financial (FinTech preferred, crypto is a huge plus), or security space
• Relevant to high-tech or fin-tech industry writing samples are required.
• An MBA degree from a top program is a big plus
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Brand marketing experience is desired
• Ability to travel at least 50% of the time to Victoria, BC; desire to relocate is a big plus

Bonus

• Familiarity with B2B and B2C advertising campaigns
• Hands-on experience with web content management tools
• Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
• Experience running marketing campaigns on social media
• Familiarity with graphic design software (i.e Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop etc.)
• Advanced degree in marketing, communications, public relations or MBA
• Up-to-Date awareness of the Bitcoin ecosystem and communities
• Understanding of basic bitcoin software and infrastructure (how to use nodes, wallets, etc.
