We’re looking for an experienced SAP Technical Analyst II to join a well-established retail organisation in Cape Town on a 12-month contract.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong SAP technical and operational experience who understands complex system landscapes, data archiving and integration across enterprise retail environments.

You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional and technical teams, vendors and support teams to coordinate archiving initiatives, improve system performance and ensure reliable application operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing and coordinating SAP data archiving activities across the business and technical support teams.
• Analysing database and table growth in relation to business processes.
• Scheduling, executing and monitoring SAP archiving jobs.
• Resolving failed or incomplete archiving sessions.
• Creating archiving objects and activating archive information structures.
• Supporting pre- and post-archiving requirements.
• Coordinating documentation, testing, approvals and sign-off activities.
• Supporting storage-system migrations and SAP upgrade testing.
• Identifying housekeeping opportunities with business stakeholders and support teams.
• Assisting with solution design, system integration and technical customising.
• Supporting users with archived-document retrieval where required.
• Ensuring solutions consider applicable business and legal requirements.

What we’re looking for

• At least five years’ relevant SAP experience.
• Experience with SAP ERP, SAP BW and SAP CAR.
• A relevant SAP certification or three to five years’ SAP Retail Support or SAP ERP experience.
• Strong experience in application operations, business processes and process integration.
• Knowledge of SAP Archive Development Kit and data-archiving processes.
• Experience with Intermediate Documents and system integrations.
• A good understanding of SAP system landscapes and technical design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to investigate issues and propose practical alternative solutions.
• Experience working with technical teams, functional teams, vendors and business stakeholders.
