Senior Infrastructure Project Manager - Data Centre Consolidation & Cloud Transformation$1,000 per day + SuperDuration: 12-month contract with a further 12-month extensionStart: ASAPLocation: Sydney, Brisbane - (Hybrid flexible working)An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to join a major Australian financial services organisation and lead a portfolio of strategic infrastructure transformation initiatives.

This role offers a unique blend of immediate delivery responsibility and future strategic program leadership. You will take ownership of several critical technology initiatives currently in flight across identity, security and digital workplace transformation.

As these projects progress, you will play a key role in shaping a significant Data Centre Consolidation Program that is entering its discovery phase and is expected to run for approximately 2-3 years.

Previous experience delivering data centre relocation, migration or consolidation projects is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent infrastructure and technology transformation initiatives.
• Manage project plans, budgets, schedules, risks, issues, dependencies and governance activities.
• Coordinate internal technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors and delivery partners.
• Drive executive reporting, steering committee updates and stakeholder communications.
• Ensure delivery outcomes align with organisational security, compliance and operational requirements.
• Support the discovery, planning and mobilisation of a major Data Centre Consolidation Program.
• Data Centre Consolidation Program
• A key component of this opportunity will involve preparing and shaping a significant Data Centre Consolidation Program that is expected to become a major multi-year initiative.
• Candidates with previous experience delivering data centre relocation, consolidation or infrastructure migration programs will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.

• Authentication to Cloud
• Lead a major identity modernisation initiative focused on transitioning legacy authentication services to Microsoft Entra ID-based cloud authentication.
• Key deliverables include:
• Migration of approximately 70 applications from ADFS to modern Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Standardisation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Strengthening access controls aligned with Zero Trust principles.
• Security governance and stakeholder engagement.
• Support for APRA CPS 234 aligned security outcomes.
• Digital Workspaces Drive the delivery of a major workplace technology transformation program comprising two strategic workstreams.
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Enterprise rollout of Azure Virtual Desktop as the strategic virtual desktop platform.
• Replacement of legacy Citrix environments.
• Development of governance, rollout and implementation frameworks.
• Delivery of secure cloud-based desktop services.
• Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)
• Enterprise rollout of Zscaler Private Access to replace traditional VPN services.
• Delivery of a modern Zero Trust remote access capability.
• Coordination of architecture, deployment and rollout activities.
• Stakeholder engagement and organisational change management.
• Domain Uplift
• Lead a strategic infrastructure and security uplift program focused on modernising the organisation's Active Directory environment.
• Key initiatives include:
• Active Directory remediation and modernisation.
• Domain and directory services uplift activities.
• Privileged access and security improvements.
• Infrastructure resilience enhancement.
• Preparation for a future cloud-aligned operating model.

About You

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure transformation programs within large enterprise environments.

Previous experience leading data centre relocation, migration, consolidation or infrastructure modernisation initiatives.

Strong understanding of infrastructure environments including compute, storage, networking, cloud, identity and security.

Experience managing multiple technical workstreams and infrastructure dependencies.

Exposure to Microsoft technologies including Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory and associated cloud transformation initiatives.

Experience developing migration strategies, cutover plans and transition approaches for complex infrastructure projects.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage executives, vendors, architects, engineers and operational teams.A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to navigate complexity and drive outcomes.
